| A bitter battle over the multi-million dollar estate of businessman Terry Bacchus is brewing, with the High Court Friday granting his common-law wife the right to be co-administrator of his assets.Bacchus was shot and killed in the city on May 22; five days later,Jason Jones Dolphins Jersey, Kumarie Ramkellawan, who bore him a son, moved to the court to be appointed administrator of his estate and to appoint Attorney-at-law Kashir Khan as receiver of the assets.Dead: Terry BacchusBut now, Bacchus’s relatives, including his brothers with whom he conducted business,Dansby Swanson Jersey, want to secure his assets and hand over management of the estate to his mother and his common-law wife Bibi Ally, with whom Bacchus had two daughters.On Friday, Bacchus’s mother, Kowsilla Ajodha, and his common-law-wife of 12 years, Bibi Ally, moved to the court to remove Ramkellawan as the administrator of the estate and to discharge Kashir Khan as the receiver of the estate.Bacchus’s family wanted either his mother,Jean Beliveau Canadiens Jersey, Kowsilla Ajodha and/or his wife Bibi Ally, to be made the sole administrator of the estate, but the court decided to name Bibi Ally co-administrator of the estate along with the other woman. The court will on June 17 decide on the removal and replacement of a receiver to the estate.While the court battle is ongoing, Bibi Ally claims that the other woman, namely Ramkellawan, with whom Bacchus had a “visiting relationship”, is plundering his estate.Relatives have claimed that three containers of electrical items from one of his stores at Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, worth an estimate $50 million have been removed.Relatives are up in arms over the fact that the receiver has exercised his authority to seal the bond at the home of Bacchus’ mother, while allowing other businesses to operate.Bacchus owned and operated several businesses in the city.Photo shows items from Bacchus’ Anna Catherina business being loaded into trucks on June 7, 2010. Together, they had two children, Theresa Bacchus, who is now 10-years-old, and Tereena Bacchus, who is now eight-years-old.Four years after his second daughter was born to Bibi Ally, Bacchus had another child,Cal Bears Jerseys, a son, Terrence Bacchus, with another woman Kumarie Ramkellan, with whom he reportedly had a “visiting relationship.”Relatives claimed Bacchus and Rankellawan shared a testy on and off relationship. In fact, the two had separated for a three week period prior to Bacchus’ death and relatives claimed that Ramkellawan had only reconciled with Bacchus just three days before he was killed.Two days after Bacchus’ funeral, which was held on May 29, Ramkellawan approached the court by way of an Ex Parte Summons and Supporting Affidavit for an order appointing her the Administrator of Bacchus’ estate and for another order appointing Attorney-at-law Kashir Khan as receiver of the assets of Bacchus, and this was granted.In her affidavit, Bacchus’ wife bemoaned the fact that Ramkellwan moved to the court to control Bacchus’ assets while his relatives and friends were yet in mourning. Further, Bibi Ally claims in her affidavit that at the time the other woman approached the court, a death certificate was not yet issued for Bacchus.Therefore, she charged that there was therefore no evidence of delay or likelihood of a delay which necessitate the granting of the orders to make the other woman the administrator of the estate.Delay in obtaining Letters of Administration was the basis upon which the court granted the other woman the right of administrator of Bacchus’ estate.The wife claimed in her affidavit that the said Ramkellawan was not and is not entitled to a general grant of the administration with respect to Bacchus’ estate.Bacchus’s wife claimed that since the orders were granted,Wholesale China Jerseys, the other woman, namely the said Ramkellawan, has plundered Bacchus’s estate to the detriment of the beneficiaries, creditors and other parties with a claim against the estate.Bacchus’s wife swore that she has video recordings of the plunder in question and that the receiver, Kashir Khan, was informed of this and failed to take steps to arrest or prevent same.The wife claimed that on the June 7, 2010, the other woman, with armed men, supervised the removal of goods from the bonds and stores of the deceased. On the very day, the home, bond and business premises of Bacchus, situated at Anna Catherina, were sealed by the receiver.Bibi Ally also swore in her affidavit that the receiver has not yet secured the bond and business premises at Mon Repos,Cheap USC Trojans Jerseys, and that on June 9, the other woman and her agents were seen removing truck loads of goods and items from the said Mon Repos bond and Double Discount store,Glenn Anderson Rangers Jersey, one of the businesses which were operated by Bacchus.Bibi Ally claimed that her lawyers wrote the other woman’s lawyer, Anil Nandlall, requesting a photocopy of the proceedings and the orders granted to the said Ramkellawan, but he is yet to provide this.Bibi Ally claims that she as widow, and Bacchus’s mother, Kowsilla Adjodha, are the only persons entitled to a general or full grant of Letters of Administration of Bacchus estate. |
