SOCCER: Last season's 33 goal striker Phil Denney has given Ashton U . s . a massive boost by re signing for the Hurst Cross golf club for another 12 months.
The Bury based front man provides signed another year's contract, with the option for another 12 months to run from next the summer months.
Denney led Ashton's line superbly past season, and was in great form towards the end of the wonderful campaign as manager Gerry Quinn well guided the Robins to their first ever campaign into the UniBond League premier team.
There had been rumours of possible bids from rival golf clubs for Denney in pre year, but nothing has however materialised and so boss Quinn was happy to hold on to a real prized investment.
Quinn said: "It's great news that Phil has re signed, and he did Canada Goose Montreal not have hesitation in doing so.
"I had heard that one or two golf clubs were interested in him, however no one came forward using a 100,000 bid consequently I'm very Belstaff Motorcycle Jackets happy!"
Quinn added in: "We reconvened for training on Saturday night and everyone Timberland Boots Ireland was looking forward to it.
"There will be plenty of completely new challenges for us next season within the premier division, but I'm just keen to start everyone down on a level playing field.
"We did really well last year and game enthusiasts have been ringing me upward asking if they could come along.
"I'll be taking a look a few possible new players, but I've simply no news on any signings as of this time."
As if the Robins don't have enough local derbies to look to in the UniBond top flight next term, they've now recently been drawn away at Droylsden from the FA Umbro Trophy first round on a date yet to be finalised.
Ashton were not involved in the FA Cup draw as they are exempt until the next qualifying round.
There are currently eight pre season friendlies for Arthur fans to look forward to.
