WACO (March 11, 2015) Ed Graf, 62, the former Hewitt man who won a new trial in the fiery deaths of his adopted stepsons and then interrupted his retrial in October to plead guilty to a two count murder charge is adjusting to life as a free man after his release from a halfway house.
Graf was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty, but under a law that was in effect at the time of the crime, was eligible for almost immediate release from prison.
He was transferred in late October to a halfway house in El Paso, where he spent three months before he was freed, although he's subject to continuous GPS monitoring through a court Bournemouth ordered leg monitor.
Graf is now living in Kerrville, where he's been working for a local construction company for the last three weeks and is living in his own apartment, his brother said Wednesday.
