| Over 35 persons involved in land surveying have participated in critical training including GPS navigation and map scale interpretation.According to the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA), the recent two-day course was conducted at its North Road offices and aimed at training prospectors of the extractive industries.The course was a collaboration between the Guyana Mining School and Training Centre, GGDMA and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission.Participants were given instructions in GPS navigation, compass navigation, map scale interpretation, mineralization map interpretation and topographic map interpretation.The course was offered free-of-charge with subsidies from the GGDMA, the association said yesterday.The instructor for the course was John Applewhite-Hercules, Administrator of the newly established Guyana Mining School and Training Centre,Jerseys Cheap NFL, which falls under the purview of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. |
